Lisa M Reisman to Relocate for Fall 2010!!

For more than three years Lisa M Reisman et Cie's Rittenhouse Square gallery and boutique has provided Philadelphia with the very best in everything from elegant jewelry to unusual European specialties. We have also become known for art exhibitions, the most recent being May's Toulouse-Lautrec: The Artist and His Circle. With our lease ending this summer, Lisa M Reisman will be leaving our red brick carriage house on RIttenhouse Square Street. The final day open to the public will be Wednesday, July 21, when we will close for packing.

To get ready for this move and make way for new Fall merchandise, Lisa M Reisman is having a storewide MOVING SALE. Shoppers will be able to find enticing one-time only discounts on luxury items and everyday accessories. All items in the store will be 30% off regular prices (excluding original art) with the second floor containing a broad clearance section, where prices are up to 75% off on hundreds of items in home decor, stationery, baby, and accessories. Additionally, all Baccarat crystal jewelry and home items are an unheard-of 40% off. (All transactions are final sale).

Starting in September, we will be launching a new three-channel expansion of our brand. A series of monthly public events, to be held at different venues across the city, will introduce Lisa M Reisman to a wider group of design-conscious Philadelphians. We will also be hosting private events for friends and clients at my Rittenhouse Square townhouse. Lisa M Reisman's website, lisart.com, will seamlessly continue to offer shipment and local delivery throughout the summer, and will expand in early autumn with new offerings.

Free local delivery for online orders (think of Fresh Direct, but for good design) and a client loyalty program will be just some of the enhancements awaiting our clientele. Announcement with further details will be posted in early September.

Emerging technology will also play a large part in our company's next chapter. Before now, if clients needed our help picking out a gift, creating custom stationery, or decorating their home, they needed to set aside time and come into our store. But we all don't function that way any more. Now, we check the weather, reschedule appointments, and read the news on our phones. Name almost any errand that required an in-person visit ten years ago, and chances are there's an app for it now. The next ten years will continue the dramatic effects that technology has had on our lives. Clients are looking for their favorite stores to mirror the increases in options and information flow they've experienced in other areas, and there's not enough of that happening here in Philadelphia. We're looking forward to providing our existing clients with new ways to shop with us, and meeting new friends through events and shows.

We've found too, that the monotony of day-to-day store management zaps our energy to do more creative and interactive things. Yet, of course there will be private appointments for those who prefer in-person shopping that the usual bricks & mortar retailing experience provides.

We're looking forward to being a part of new retailing trends for the 21st Century, and invite you to come along with us. We certainly plan to have some fun parties and get-togethers--and not just in the virtual sense!

The sale in store and online--we're making it congruent as fast as we can.

Rittenhouse Square’s Lisa M. Reisman, home to the city’s most diverse selection of fine jewelry, gifts, and stationery, welcomes 2010 with the annual Wintersale, and a chance to find select never-on-sale pieces from 30% to 75% off.

In the spirit of bidding farewell to the aughts and looking forward to a new decade, major changes are afoot. The addition of exciting new collections for this spring means major discounts on some of the boutique’s best-known brands.

Substantial savings can be found on an extensive array of high-end items, including 35% off Baccarat crystal barware and home décor pieces, 40% off designer jewelry collections from Helge Ott of Germany and Kuwayama of Japan, and up to 75% off G. Lalo fine designer stationery.

Select styles of luxurious Scottish cashmere baby blankets and lambswool throw blankets are now 30% off, and modern flatware, kitchenware, and tabletop items from Germany’s WMF is now 35% off.

Some of the largest markdowns are reserved for impressive offerings in stationery, personal leather goods, and home organization. Stylish and always-useful bags, baskets, and luggage from Germany’s Reisenthel are all 40% off, and French-made leather notepads, wallets, address books, and journals from Mignon and Exacompta are over 50% off. Stock up on notepads and journals from Clairefontaine and Rhodia, where select items are also on sale.

Lisa M. Reisman et Cie’s Wintersale will continue until the end of January, both in-store and online.

We're still tinkering with the website--many items are on sale, yet remain unlisted in the sales category. Please drop us an email or call toll-free (1-888-735-2781) to see if the item you want is "on sale." Thanks for your patience.

30% off Holiday Decorations!

Happy New Year, everyone! There's so much to celebrate...for instance, on today's date in 1984, AT&T was divested of its 22 Bell System companies as part of an antitrust settlement. We can barely contain our excitement.

As such, we're closed today, but will reopen tomorrow at 10am. We're also switching to our winter store hours, so our new schedule is closed Monday, open Tuesday to Friday 10am-7pm, and on the weekends we're here from 10am to 5pm. Changes to our opening hours will always be posted here first, and at the bottom of every page on lisart.com.

Right now, we're offering 30% off all of our Christmas decorations. This covers all individual and boxed sets of Christmas cards, including the beautiful engraved ones from Jan Petr Obr of Prague. Also 30% off are our handblown ornaments from the Czech Republic, which are richly painted in a variety of designs. Our remaining supplies are extremely limited, so stop in and pick up some for next year.

Neither snow nor rain...

We survived the snow storm! Everything in Philadelphia is still reasonably buried in white stuff, which is actually rather nice as it's been some years since we've gotten a decent snowfall. As a mid-Atlantic city, Philly gets more confused when snow hits than, say, upstate New York, so unless we trade climate systems with Burbank, we'll probably be dealing with this avalanche for the rest of the week.

Anyway, we're still shipping holiday orders out, and UPS is still delivering them. If you live in the area, or choose to pay a little more for express delivery, orders placed by Wednesday can still arrive by Christmas Eve (Thursday). If you stop by, we've also got our espresso machine up and running (no charge!) for those who could use something warm.

The LMR et Cie 30 Sec Commercial Coming to a Small Screen Near You Soon

A short while ago our team got together and created this commercial to give people a feel for our shop, even if they couldn't come in person. It took lots of planning, but we shot it in a few hours in an afternoon. It was a lot of fun to make and we hope you enjoy it.

Unique Gift Ideas for the Holiday Season #1

Like little gems, these original period soap and perfume labels are sure to please. Antique and authentic reminders of a golden age of graphic design. Beautifully framed and ready for presentation; a short historical explanation is included with each.

I found these on my travels in France and London and they are increasingly scarce. I have a collection of them hanging together in my guest powder room, and they are a big hit!
